    ]]>
On Monday, January 8, Bleed Esports announced the signing of mid laner Rafli “Mikoto” Fathur Rahman and support Wilson “poloson” Koh.

With the two additions, Bleed Esports completed their Dota 2 line-up, weeks ahead of DreamLeague Season 22.

Mikoto joins Bleed Esports as one of the most recognisable names from the South-East Asia (SEA) Dota 2 scene.

The 23-year-old started his esports career in March 2017 and has since played for some of the top teams in the region, including BOOM Esports and Talon Esports.

With Talon, Mikoto accomplished a lot last year.

He won the BTS Pro Series Season 14: Southeast Asia and DPC SEA 2023 Tour 2: Division I and claimed two bronze medals at the Lima Major 2023 and Riyadh Masters 2023.

However, despite all the success, Mikoto found himself on the chopping block after Talon’s 9th-12th-place exit from The International 2023.

His new teammate, poloson joins Bleed Esports as one of the most experienced players on the roster.

Over his career, which spans a decade, poloson has competed with some of the strongest Dota 2 teams in the world, including Invictus Gaming, Nigma Galaxy SEA, and Team SMG.

Even though poloson didn’t accomplish much in 2023 when he competed with Myth Avenue Gaming, the seasoned veteran can offer a lot of value for Bleed, who’ll look to build on the success they’ve achieved in 2023.

Bleed Esports have proven very active during the Dota 2 offseason, looking to strengthen the roster after failing to accomplish much in the 2023 season.

Even though Bleed Esports won DPC SEA 2023 Tour 3: Division I, the SEA squad failed to show much on the international stage.

In July, Bleed Esports attended Bali Major 2023 and crashed out of the $500,000 Dota 2 esports tournament in 13th-14th place.

By the end of the season, the Singaporean team unsuccessfully attempted to qualify for The International and ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023, exiting both qualifiers in fifth-sixth place.

In a bid to find more success in 2024, Bleed Esports started rebuilding the roster in November with the addition of Natthaphon “Masaros” Ouanphakdee and Tommy “Taiga” Le.

However, after a rough showing at Kobolds Rave in December, Bleed released Taiga and found two new players to fill the missing gaps.

Bleed Esports will debut their new roster in the upcoming DreamLeague Season 22 qualifier, set to start in February.

    ]]>
TSM have officially withdrawn from the North American Dota 2 scene, marking another significant departure for the organization following exits from League of Legends and Rainbow Six Siege earlier this year.

The team initially entered the Dota 2 scene almost two years ago, signing Team Undying in January 2022.

Throughout their involvement in the NA scene, TSM retained players Enzo “Timado” Gianoi and Jonathan “Bryle” De Guia, with additional members Gainullin “kasane” Ilyas, Matthew “Ari” Walker and Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon joining towards the end of the same year.

The team experienced moderate success, winning the DPC NA 2021C2022 Tour One Regional Final and securing second place at the ESL One Stockholm Major in May 2022.

However, TSM’s performance in The International 2023 was disappointing.

Rumours had circulated initially that TSM’s entry into Dota 2 was primarily to please sponsors FTX, and despite that brand’s departure, the roster remained intact.

The decision to release the roster a year later suggests that these rumours may have held some truth.

ESL One revealed that the former TSM roster would continue to compete as Team Undying in ESL One Kuala Lumpur, with no immediate changes to the line-up.

Former TSM coach David “MoonMeander” Tan hinted at upheaval with a cryptic tweet on November 29, saying “RIP NADota.”

While TSM are stepping away from the NA Dota 2 scene, the organization teased future developments in Dota 2, leaving fans speculating about the next steps.

Some fans believe TSM might follow a similar path to their League of Legends operations by moving to a new region, with Europe or Southeast Asia being potential destinations.

Despite TSM’s reassurances, constant roster changes have left some fans sceptical about the team’s future, and concerns about the organization’s stability are growing within the community.

In a recent Twitter announcement, TSM expressed gratitude for thier Dota 2 roster’s growth and dedication but confirmed their departure from the NA scene.

The organization hinted at upcoming updates regarding future endeavours in Dota 2, leaving room for speculation that TSM might pick up a new roster in a different region.

Despite the uncertainties, TSM expressed confidence in the players’ potential for continued success in their careers.

In a surprising move ahead of The International 2023, Valve announced the discontinuation of the Dota Pro Circuit in 2024.

This decision created a void in the professional Dota 2 scene, prompting ESL to step in with the ESL Pro Tour Season 2.

Team Spirit currently leads the season with 2400 points, securing their position after winning DreamHack DreamLeague Season 21, followed closely by Shopify Rebellion with 2000 points.

ESL Pro Tour Season 2 is set to dominate the calendar with five tournaments, beginning with the highly anticipated ESL One Kuala Lumpur, officially kicking off the 2024 Dota 2 professional season.

ESL Pro Tour Season 2 introduces a new Dota 2 region, MENA, ensuring one guaranteed spot in ESL-hosted tournaments.

Uncertainty surrounds the inclusion of MENA in third-party tournaments, given its proximity to Europe, despite the region boasting a similar skill ceiling.

Following ESL One Kuala Lumpur, DreamLeague Season 22 is scheduled for late February to the first week of March, with qualifiers starting in January.

In April, an ESL LAN event in Europe will precede DreamLeague Season 23.

Open qualifiers for ESL One EU and DreamLeague Season 22 are set for January and March, respectively.

The pinnacle of ESL Pro Tour Season 2 arrives in July with a mysterious tournament.

Rumors circulate about a significant prize pool, potentially rivaling that of The International 2021.

Dzmitry “Fishman” Palishchuk fueled the speculation with an unverified claim of a US$45,000,000 prize pool.

The ESL Pro Tour is poised to reshape the Dota 2 professional scene, with ESL’s commitment evident in their schedule.

The introduction of the EPL Leaderboard awards teams with EPT Points, determining direct invites to the July ‘Showdown’ event.

The ESL Pro Tour calendar for 2024 includes three online DreamLeague seasons and two live ESL One tournaments.

The season kicks off with DreamLeague Season 22 in late February, followed by ESL One Europe in person in April.

May sees DreamLeague Season 23 before the July Showdown event.

Shane Clarke, Director Game Ecosystems C Dota 2 at ESL FACEIT Group, expressed excitement about the 2024 ESL Pro Tour, promising remarkable moments, eye-watering prize pools, and an unwavering dedication to the Dota 2 community.

Post-Showdown, ESL Pro Tour Season 3 begins with another DreamLeague season and ESL One competition in October and November, respectively.

ESL One Asia concludes the season in December, with the remaining tournaments scheduled for 2025.

These developments mark a significant shift in Dota 2’s competitive landscape following Valve’s discontinuation of the Dota Pro Circuit, with ESL taking the reins to provide an electrifying and competitive professional scene.

The post Team Spirit dominate Gaimin Gladiators to claim Dota 2 TI12 title appeared first on Esport Bet.

    ]]>
At The International 2023, Dota 2’s most formidable forces collided in an epic showdown, as Team Spirit utterly dominated Gaimin Gladiators in a one-sided grand final, securing a 3-0 sweep.

This commanding victory not only denied Gaimin Gladiators their dream of a perfect season but also elevated Team Spirit to a unique position as only the second team in history to clinch two TI titles.

While Team Spirit faced a sluggish start to the year, they progressively molded themselves into championship contenders with significant victories at Riyadh Masters 2023 and DreamHack DreamLeague Season 21.

They carried this momentum into The International 2023, where they nearly swept through the tournament undefeated.

Throughout their time in Seattle, they dropped only two games, with one loss each to Virtus.pro and Team Liquid.

This impressive record of 19-2 secured them a 90.5 percent win rate for TI12, surpassing the previous TI winners and setting a new record.

In the grand finals, Team Spirit set the tone even before the draft began, as Illya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk made a bold sacrifice by shaving his head, a move believed to invoke a “bald buff.”

This superstitious act seemed to work wonders as Yatoro’s exceptional performance on Weaver in the first game propelled Spirit to a resounding victory.

The second game was closely contested, but Yatoro’s Faceless Void, a hero rarely seen throughout TI12, unleashed his full potential, including multiple Chronosphere lockdowns and a Rampage, solidifying his status as the only player to achieve more than one Rampage during a TI Main Event.

In the third game, Gaimin Gladiators initially appeared to have the upper hand with Quinn “Quinn” Callahan’s Pangolier and Marcus “Ace” Hoelgaard’s Brewmaster.

However, Team Spirit defied the odds, with Yatoro’s refusal to accept defeat and Magomed “Collapse” Khalilov’s game-changing Spirit Breaker leading to a dramatic turnaround.

In the blink of an eye, Team Spirit launched a relentless series of aggressive pushes and picks that secured their TI victory.

With this triumph, Team Spirit joined the exclusive ranks of Dota 2 organizations that have won a second Aegis, following in the footsteps of OG.

Yatoro, Collapse, Myroslav “Mira” Kolpakov, and Yaroslav “Misposhka” Naidenov also cemented their legacy as the only players to secure a second TI victory, with Denis “Larl” Sigitov as the newcomer, who wasn’t involved in their first win at TI10.

Despite their TI12 victory, Team Spirit’s prize money of US$1,414,763 was notably lower than their record-breaking earnings of US$18.2 million at TI10.

This reflects the changing financial landscape in the esports world, as their winnings were partially offset by a US$5 million victory at Riyadh Masters.

Gaimin Gladiators’ loss perpetuated the so-called “TI curse”, as no team has ever won a DPC Major and then gone on to win TI.

Their defeat marked their first finals loss of the year, securing them second place and US$377,214 in prize money.

They now face a period of reflection and preparation for the 2024 season, which will not feature a Dota Pro Circuit.

While Team Spirit’s victory was a momentous achievement, TI12 was not without its concerns.

The prize pool for the event stagnated at US$3,143,593, raising questions about the declining enthusiasm for Dota 2.

Valve’s controversial changes to the TI12 Compendium, which excluded cosmetic items, contributed to a drop in community contributions, potentially signaling a waning interest in the game.

As the professional Dota 2 scene faces shifting dynamics and diminishing prize pools, there is growing uncertainty about its future.

While third-party circuits are set to return in 2024, the persistent financial decline casts a shadow over the professional Dota 2 community, leaving stakeholders and fans alike to contemplate what lies ahead.

Additionally, the display company landed a multi-year agreement to equip the HyperX Esports Arena in Las Vegas, owned by Allied Esports.

As The International 2023 approaches, with its commencement slated for October 12 in Seattle, United States, it has garnered attention not just for the gameplay but also for its prize pool. While the event has been historically known for its sizable prize funds, like the whopping $40 million in 2021, this year witnesses a notable reduction. The decrease in the prize amount is attributed to fans expressing dissatisfaction with TI12s Compendium, a pass instrumental in funding the prize pool.

In the lead-up to the renowned tournament, Tundra Esports has been proactive in forging valuable partnerships. Apart from the recent collaboration with ViewSonic, Tundra has exclusively partnered with Ballantines scotch whisky specifically for the Dota 2 event. The esports team also lists esports betting site Winline among its commercial allies.

Tundra Esports Chief Executive Officer, Carleton Curtis, expressed enthusiasm over the new partnership with ViewSonic.

We are delighted to welcome ViewSonic as the Official Supplier of our Dota 2 roster,” he said.

“This partnership is a fantastic opportunity for our organisations to showcase the product use of the ViewSonic product line and build valuable touchpoints together.

We are looking forward to working with ViewSonic during The International 2023 to bring a lot of exciting moments to our fans.

Beyond its commercial endeavors, Tundra Esports has also been in the spotlight for expanding its presence in the gaming sector, notably entering the Rocket League esports scene through a collaborative venture with French club PSG earlier this year.

Tundra Esports is paying $8.00 to win The International, with Team Spirit ($4.50), Gaimin Gladiators ( $4.50) and Team Liquid ( $4.50) ahead of them in the betting.

Team Entity has secured their place at Dota 2s main event, The International 2023, for the second year in a row.

They faced tough competition in the qualifier, defeating formidable opponents like Nigma Galaxy and Team Secret along the way.

Qualifying for TI through the Dota Pro Circuit is no easy feat with more than 10 teams vying for just one or two spots.

Historically two teams have managed to qualify for TI through qualifiers in consecutive years; Mousesports from 2012 to 2014 and Ehome in 2015 and 2016.

Now Entity joins this group thanks to their performance.

Entity started off by facing Nigma Galaxy in a match that ended with them emerging as the victors with a score of 2-1.

In the bracket they continued their winning streak by defeating Team Secret after two maps.

However, Entity faced a challenge in the bracket finals when they encountered Luna Galaxy an underdog team that put up a tough fight.

The encounter lasted over an hour and pushed Entity to their limits.

Despite LGs efforts Entity ultimately secured one of the sought after spots for Western European Dota 2 region, at TI12.

With Entity’s credentials, fans can eagerly anticipate the participation of prodigy player Alimzhan “watson” Islambekov in this years Dota 2 tournament.

Watson created ripples throughout the 2023 DPC season showcasing dominance in the rankings.

Notably he is also the first player from Kazakhstan to secure a qualification for TI, which adds a layer of significance to Entity’s accomplishment.

Entity’s remarkable journey, through the TI12 qualifiers has sent shockwaves across the European Dota 2 scene establishing them as a presence to be reckoned with at The International 2023.

The European qualifiers will resume tomorrow featuring three remaining teams vying for a TI spot.

Team Secret ($2.75) will clash with Quest Esports ($1.40), with the winner advancing to the final match of the European West Qualifier against Luna Galaxy, where the winner of that clash will qualify for The International 2023.
