ESB brings you free VALORANT betting tips for a pair of VCT 2024 Americas Stage 1 games on Tuesday, April 23. Here are our picks for Sentinels vs Evil Geniuses and NRG vs MiBR, with esports odds courtesy of the best bookmakers for gamblers from Seychelles.

SENTINELS vs EVIL GENIUSES VCT BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

Best Odds: Sentinels $1.08 at GG Bet | EG $6.88 at GG Bet
When: April 23, 2024 | 14:00 PDT
Watch Live: Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/valorant_americas)

Sentinels bounced back following a 0-2 loss against Leviatan in Week 2 with a 2-0 sweep of MiBR on Saturday. It was a good showing from the reigning VCT 2024 Madrid Masters champions, who gave MiBR very little room to breathe, showing excellent execution on both attack and defence.

Evil Geniuses have not been as successful this season. They showed some good qualities against Cloud9 on Monday when they won Lotus with a strong performance on defence, but even that was overshadowed by poor showings on Sunset and Split.

The biggest issue with EG is their weak map pool. Unlike the 2023 roster, Evil Geniuses are also not as adaptable, which explains their lack of consistency and slow starts.

Sentinels should win, but at $1.08 with VCT bookmakers, they’re overrated. Evil Geniuses are not great, but they tend to do well on certain maps, and as long as they don’t fall behind too early, they can do some damage.

NRG vs MIBR VCT BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

Best Odds: NRG $1.63 at GG Bet | MIBR $2.19 at GG Bet
When: April 23, 2024 | 17:00 PDT
Watch Live: Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/valorant_americas)

NRG are slowly making a case for themselves as one of the strongest VALORANT esports teams in the region. They did well in the Kickoff tournament, with just one 1-2 defeat against the eventual champions, Sentinels, and they haven’t looked bad so far in VCT 2024 Americas Stage 1.

Max “Demon1” Mazanov, in particular, has been phenomenal, with the league’s third-highest average performance rating at 1.39, ahead of Jimmy “Marved” Nguyen, who ranks fifth at 1.29.

MiBR enter the third week of VCT 2024 Americas Stage 1 with a 0-2 record after defeats against Sentinels and KRU Esports. Like NRG, MiBR had moments during VCT 2024 Americas Kickoff, but they’ve not looked good ever since Stage 1 started.

VALORANT betting sites have NRG priced as $1.63 favourites, which is very generous considering how much better they’ve been playing than MiBR. This number likely won’t hold, but anything around $1.60 is worth a bet.

During the tumultuous VALORANT offseason following their surprising world championship win, Evil Geniuses (EG) made attempts to exit their partnership with VCT Americas.

Amidst EG’s downsizing and negotiations, the organization explored the possibility of selling its VALORANT Champions Tour slot and roster to FlyQuest.

However, Riot Games intervened and prevented a transfer from occurring.

Reports indicate that Riot rejected an agreement between EG and LCS member FlyQuest, which would have involved EG transferring their partnership slot to FlyQuest.

The negotiations between EG and FlyQuest reportedly spanned several months, with FlyQuest aiming to acquire both the partnership slot and the championship-winning roster from EG.

Despite efforts to secure facilities and offices for the players, Riot’s decision halted the deal.

This marked FlyQuest’s second failed attempt to enter VCT Americas, as they had previously missed out on acquiring The Guard’s roster from G2 Esports.

Details from the offseason shed light on the contractual situations of EG players.

They were allegedly offered significantly reduced salaries, with those who declined facing the risk of contract termination.

EG also turned down buyout offers for some of its star players, including Kelden “Boostio” Elric Pupello, Max “Demon1” Mazanov, and Ethan “Ethan” Arnold.

As EG prepares to compete in the upcoming VCT Americas Kickoff tournament with a largely revamped roster, uncertainties loom over the organization’s future in Valorant beyond its current contract with Riot Games.

Professional League of Legends matches across all regions have long remained one patch behind the live servers.

However, the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) will step away from the tradition in the 2024 season.

Its become a custom for professional LoL games to play on older patches due to the tight turnaround between patch releases and competitive scheduling.

With patches being released every second Wednesday, most LoL esports teams wouldnt have the time to adapt to changes before stepping on stage.

Yet, the LCS doesnt seem too bothered by that.

According to the announcement, which also unveiled Mark “MarkZ” Zimmerman as LCSs commissioner, the North American LoL esports league confirmed that all 2024 LCS games will be played on live patches.

Other LoL leagues have not announced any changes to the ruleset, meaning theyll likely stick with the old tradition of playing on patches behind the live servers.

How the rule change will affect LCS teams remains to be seen, but it will force a more challenging schedule on the players, who will have just two days of practice before the matches.

The decision to move all pro games to live patches comes after a plethora of changes the league has announced in the months leading up to the 2024 season.

In December, LCS unveiled that it is returning to a weekend schedule, one year after all games were moved to Thursday-Friday.

The unconventional plan proved harmful to the overall viewership, as the LCS peaked at just over 271,376 viewers in the spring and just under 224,000 viewers in the Summer Split.

A month prior, in November 2023, LCS was also hit with the exodus of Evil Geniuses and Golden Guardians, who left the LoL esports scene, continuing a worrying trend that was started by TSM, who exited the North American LoL league in September.

While Shopify Rebellion replaced TSM, LCS didnt find any replacement teams to fill the gaps that Evil Geniuses and Golden Guardians left behind.

As a result, the 2024 season will start with just eight squads, making the LCS the smallest of the major LoL leagues.

The next season starts with the LCS Spring Split on Saturday, January 20, 2024.

The post League Of Legends Championship Series downsizes from 10 to eight teams appeared first on Esport Bet.

]]>
Riot Games has officially confirmed recent rumours about the North American League of Legends league downsizing from 10 to eight teams for the 2024 season.

Golden Guardians and Evil Geniuses are set to exit the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS), allowing their former players to explore new opportunities during the current offseason.

This downsizing comes shortly after the LCS achieved record-breaking viewership in the 2023 World Championship finals.

The departure of Golden Guardians and EG raises questions about potential changes to the LCS format and whether other organizations will step up to claim spots in the franchised league.

Riot’s president of esports, John Needham, disclosed that both organizations had the option to terminate their “team participating agreements” (TPA) and settle with Riot, with the transactions being recently finalized.

Golden Guardians, owned by the Golden State Warriors, opted to redirect resources toward traditional sports, specifically basketball.

On the other hand, EG faced financial struggles, compelling the organization to withdraw from LCS participation.

As a result, Riot is now tasked with considering the future of the LCS.

Riot has been expediting settlements with these organizations to enable players to potentially join other teams before the 2024 season kicks off.

However, the staff behind the scenes are left to navigate their next steps independently.

Riot’s Needham emphasized the challenge, stating, “They are employees of different organizations. Theres no way for us to really intercede and do anything for those people, sadly.”

LCS fans now face the reality of a smaller league in the 2024 season, with Riot expected to disclose its plans for the future early next year.

Both Golden Guardians and EG players and staff find themselves caught off guard by the sudden news.

Top laner Eric Licorice Ritchie expressed his uncertainty about the future, having planned to play for Golden Guardians in 2024.

Kelsey Moser, the head of EG League coaching staff, voiced disappointment in the timing of the news, as very few were aware before the weekend.

The late announcement poses challenges for players seeking opportunities in the upcoming season, especially given that the official news coincided with the opening of the free agency window.

The League of Legends Championship Series Players Association (LCSPA) expressed dissatisfaction with Riot’s “11th hour” decision, stating that it has cost jobs for 20 percent of the league overnight.

While acknowledging frustrations with communication and the lack of time for affected players to find new opportunities, the LCSPA sees the removal of struggling organizations as a net benefit.

The association emphasized the importance of player voices in shaping the future of the LCS.

The LCSPA had demonstrated its influence earlier in the year when Riot unexpectedly removed the requirement for LCS teams to field Academy rosters.

In response, the association voted for a walkout during the opening games of the Summer Split, forcing Riot to postpone the games and reconsider its decision.

As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen whether this marks an inflection point for the LCSPA and if they will take further action in response to the recent changes in the LCS landscape.

Esportbet returns with Dota 2 The International esports betting coverage for the first round of the lower bracket, on Saturday, October 21. Here are our selections for Shopify Rebellion vs TSM, Evil Geniuses vs Gaimin Gladiators, Keyd Stars vs BetBoom Team, and Tundra Esports vs Entity, with esports odds courtesy of the best esports betting sites.

SHOPIFY REBELLION vs TSM

Best Odds: Shopify $1.53 at GG Bet | TSM $2.37 at GG Bet

Shopify Rebellion finished Group B in fourth place, with two draws against Thunder Awaken and Azure Ray and two defeats against Team Liquid and BetBoom Team. In the second phase, Tal “Fly” Aizik and co. added another loss against Team Spirit.

Going 0-2-3 doesn’t look good, but we have to consider that Shopify Rebellion had to play tough opponents. This is a strong team that should be regarded as favourites to defeat TSM, even though TSM are 1-2-2 so far in this Dota 2 tournament.

TSM’s sole victory of The International 2023 came against PSG Talon, and their only other two positive results were stalemates against Keyd Stars and PSG Quest. Those are not the most inspiring results, which, combined with the fact that Shopify Rebellion are far more experienced competing on the big stage, makes ex-Evil Geniuses core an obvious pick.

EVIL GENIUSES vs GAIMIN GLADIATORS

Best Odds: EG $3.50 at GG Bet | GG $1.28 at GG Bet
When: October 21, 2023 |13:00 PDT
Watch Live: Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/dota2ti)

Evil Geniuses have not accomplished much this season in international events, and they weren’t expected to make it far at The International 2023 as $34.00 outsiders. Unfortunately, EG failed to prove the doubters wrong, with a 0-2-2 group stage run and a rough 0-2 loss against Team Liquid in the second phase.

Gaimin Gladiators were priced as the second favourites ($5.00 ) on TI12 outright betting markets, but they failed to meet the expectations. The no.2 DPC seed finished the group stage with a 2-1-1 record and lost their ticket for the upper bracket with a 1-2 loss against PSG Talon.

A couple of poor showings don’t mean much, but it doesn’t make sense for a team that has won six Dota 2 Tier 1 events to struggle so much. While still an incredibly stacked team, Gaimin Gladiators have shown to be volatile, which makes betting on over 2.5 maps at plus money a solid choice.

KEYD STARS vs BETBOOM TEAM

Best Odds: Keyd $5.50 at GG Bet | BetBoom $1.12 at GG Bet
When: October 21, 2023 |14:00 PDT
Watch Live: Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/dota2ti)

Keyd Stars entered The International 2023 as $201.00 outsiders with GGBet to go all the way, and even though their chances to win the Aegis of Champions remain extremely low, the South American squad did enough to qualify for the knockouts. Matheus “KJ” Diniz and his crew finished Group D without a single win, but they forced three draws against PSG Quest, Tundra Esports, and TSM, which is impressive for their standards.

However, even though Keyd Stars did relatively well, they should have no business beating BetBoom Team. The Russians are not one of the main favourites to win The International, but this is still a powerful team C as they’ve shown in the group stage with wins against Thunder Awaken, Shopify Rebellion, and Azure Ray.

BetBoom Team have yet to be properly tested this tournament, so it’s tough to say how far they can go. But even though BB Team have much to prove, they shouldn’t be losing games like this.

TUNDRA ESPORTS vs ENTITY

Best Odds: Tundra $1.44 at GG Bet | Entity $2.62 at GG Bet
When: October 21, 2023 |19:00 PDT
Watch Live: Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/dota2ti)

Tundra Esports looked very solid during the group stage, which they finished with a 3-1-0 record, but then, the defending TI champions lost against nouns (0-2) in Seeding Decider, proving again how volatile they can be.

Entity finished Group A in second place (1-2-1), with one win against Evil Geniuses, two draws against 9Pandas and Team SMG, and one loss defeat Team Spirit, to which they added a concerning defeat against Azure Ray (0-2) in the deciders. This explains why Entity are underdogs for this match, but even at $2.62, they seem a bit overrated.

Tundra Esports are one of the elite teams, and while they can be a bit inconsistent, Tundra Esports have not lost a map against Entity since the final round of DPC WEU 2023 Tour 1: Division I.

Evil Geniuses’ Dota 2 squad has announced a fresh partnership with Thunderpick, a prominent esports betting platform noted for its exclusive dealing with cryptocurrency.

This new sponsorship comes on the heels of previous collaborations between Evil Geniuses CS:GO team and Thunderpick, which was announced in May.

Thunderpick stands out in the esports betting landscape due to its crypto-exclusive transactions and commitment to providing a premium live crypto betting experience. The platform offers high-quality live streaming for each event, making it a fitting partner for the Evil Geniuses’ Dota 2 team.

The current formation of the Evil Geniuses Dota 2 roster, assembled after The International, encompasses some of the finest players from South America. With the team achieving remarkable results, including being the first from South America to secure a top-four finish at a DPC circuit Major, this partnership is poised to be a significant sponsorship deal for Thunderpick.

Kelly Sander, Thunderpick’s Head of Strategy, expressed enthusiasm about the deepening partnership with Evil Geniuses.

Being a part of Evil geniuses esports journey has been incredibly rewarding, and were ready to take our partnership to the next level and help drive growth of esports around the world, she said.

Were excited to extend our support to this teams pursuit of excellence in the competitive world of Dota 2, investing not only in the players but also in the fans whose passion for esports fuels our own.

The collaboration promises to enhance team content and fan experiences as the esports community gears up for the upcoming Invitational 12, a significant Dota 2 Championship slated for October.

Evil Geniuses are a $34.00 chance to win the International 12 at esports betting sites, with Team Liquid the warm favourite at $5.00.

BLAST, a prominent CS:GO event organizer, has recently disclosed the list of invited teams set to participate in the highly anticipated BLAST Premier Fall Showdown, scheduled to commence on October 4th.

This tournament will feature teams from around the world competing across two brackets, each consisting of eight teams, utilizing a single-elimination format.

The ultimate prize at stake is a spot at the $425,000 BLAST Fall Final, slated to take place in Copenhagen from November 22-26.

Securing an invitation to such prestigious tournaments, like the Fall Showdown, can significantly impact a team’s reputation and standing within the gaming community.

It’s an opportunity for esports organizations to showcase their skills on a global stage, solidify their position in the esports scene, and, of course, compete for a substantial prize pool.

In the European bracket, ENCE, a well-known esports organization, has secured an invitation alongside formidable competitors such as G2, BIG, and OG.

Four additional teams will join them through qualification rounds, promising fierce competition as these teams vie for supremacy in Europe.

Meanwhile, in the Americas/Rest of World bracket, FURIA and Imperial have successfully secured their spots.

However, there’s one remaining spot awaiting the winner of the Ace North American Masters Fall tournament.

FURIA and Imperial will face tough opponents, including Complexity, Fake Natty, and Evil Geniuses, all competing for that coveted spot in the Fall Final.

It’s worth noting that Liquid will also participate in the Americas/Rest of the World Showdown due to the tournament’s details being finalized before their transition to a European core.

Nevertheless, BLAST’s press release hints at potential changes to Liquid’s status as a BLAST partner team in 2024.

Evil Geniuses have won the Valorant Champions tournament, defeating Paper Rex 3-1 and securing the title of world champions for the year.

The grand final of the Valorant Champions was a showdown where both teams showcased their strengths at stages of the match. Despite Paper Rex having a two map advantage due, to arriving from the bracket it proved insufficient to deter Evil Geniuses.

The latter triumphed on Valorant maps Split, Bind and Lotus maps ultimately sealing their victory.

Evil Geniuses wasted no time in acknowledging the performance of their opponents, after securing their $1 million USD prize for winning the tournament.

“pprxteam you played so well and made both series bangers. You were the best opponent we could’ve had in the Finals,” they wrote on social media website X, which was formerly known as Twitter.

EG also showed appreciation for star player Wang “Jinggg” Jing Jie, who will be taking a break from play during the 2024 Valorant season after being called up for National Service in home country Singapores.

“@Jingggxd you are an absolute legend of the game and we wish you the best!” they wrote. ]

The first two maps of the Valorant Champions final were contested battles, with EG taking the opening spoils with a score of 13-10.

Paper Rex turned things around and won the next map with a score of 13-11.

This 1-1 result after two maps, turned the of five final into a best of three showdown.

EG then dominated on Bind winning with a score of 13-5 and shifting the momentum in their favour.

The focus then shifted to Lotus, which ultimately became the deciding battleground.

EG secured a 13-10 victory earning them the championship crown.

Evil Genius had quite a journey to reach the Valorant Champions final.
