Here are our selections for BetBoom Team vs Complexity and ENCE vs FaZe Clan, with esports odds courtesy of the best bookmakers for gamblers in Seychelles.

BETBOOM TEAM vs COMPLEXITY CS2 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

Best Odds: BetBoom $2.00 at GG Bet | Complexity $1.72 at GG Bet
When: October 20, 2023 | 16:30 AEDT
Watch Live: Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/ESLCS)

BetBoom Team exceeded all expectations with their performance in the group stage, where they defeated Team Vitality (16-14) and GamerLegion (2-0) and played a very close series with the reigning ESL Pro League Season 18 champions, MOUZ.

The transition to Counter-Strike 2, which has introduced some volatility, seems to have greatly benefited BetBoom Team; however, according to the offered CS2 betting odds, the Russian squad is not expected to make it any further.

Like BetBoom Team, Complexity also outperformed expectations en route to the knockout stage. However, unlike BB Team, Complexity have had a fairly easy road, with wins against Monte (13-9, 2-0) and Cloud9 (2-0).

Both teams have earned their spot in the playoffs; however, it’s tough to explain why Complexity are priced as the favourites. It might have to do with the fact that Intel Extreme Masters Sydney 2023 is the only tournament of the year in which BetBoom Team have looked good, but that’s a poor excuse to bet against them.

ENCE vs FAZE CLAN CS2 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

Best Odds: ENCE $1.72 at GG Bet | FaZe $2.00 at GG Bet
When: October 20, 2023 | 19:30 AEDT
Watch Live: Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/ESLCS)

ENCE last met with FaZe Clan during Intel Extreme Masters Dallas 2023 in June, winning 2-0 and 2-1. The latest odds suggest ENCE should win again; however, past results, especially those from Counter-Strike: Global Offensive games, don’t mean much.

ENCE have looked decent so far in this tournament. They placed second in Group B, where they beat Lynn Vision (13-6) and Fnatic (2-1) and lost against G2 Esports (9-13, 8-13).

FaZe Clan, meanwhile, placed third in Group A with a loss against GamerLegion (15-19) and three straight wins against Team Vitality (2-1), Natus Vincere (2-1), and GamerLegion (2-1).

FaZe Clan have beaten stronger teams than ENCE, but they didn’t look much cleaner in their wins, which leads us to believe that this is a 50-50 match. Knowing that the teams are fairly equal and still shaky on the game’s newest version, taking over 2.5 maps makes the most sense.

MOUZ, G2 Esports book IEM Sydney semi-final spots https://www.cheapersunglasses.com/mouz-g2-esports-book-iem-sydney-semi-final-spots/ https://www.cheapersunglasses.com/mouz-g2-esports-book-iem-sydney-semi-final-spots/#respond Thu, 19 Oct 2023 00:00:20 +0000 https://www.cheapersunglasses.com/?p=32802 The six remaining Counter-Strike teams in the IEM Sydney playoff bracket will compete in a single-elimination bracket at the sold-out Aware Super Theatre this weekend.

Before the last day of the group stage, we knew that BetBoom Team, MOUZ, ENCE, and G2 Esports were already locked in for the playoffs, but there was one more spot to fill from the lower-bracket of each group.

FaZe Clan faced GamerLegion for the final playoff spot in Group A.

FaZe was seeking their third straight win and revenge for their double overtime loss in the first round.

FaZe defeated Team Vitality and Natus Vincere in their previous two series, while GL lost 0-2 to BetBoom Team and defeated Apeks 2-0.

After FaZe won GamerLegion’s map pick (Ancient), GL won FaZe’s map (Inferno) to send the series to Nuke.

After defeating FaZe on Nuke in the first round, GamerLegion entered the final map with confidence, but FaZe won 13-6 and qualified for the playoffs.

In the lower-bracket of Group B, Complexity and Monte won their respective semi-finals against Cloud9 and Fnatic, setting up another opening round rematch for the lower final.

Much like the opening round fixture between these two (13-9 Complexity), the lower-bracket final was close on both maps of the series.

Complexity won each map 16-13 after Overpass and Ancient went to overtime, where they surged in the final rounds to qualify for the playoffs.

Meanwhile, the upper-bracket finals in each group took place, with the winner of each series earning an extra day off by qualifying for the semi-finals on Saturday.

MOUZ would defeat BetBoom Team 2-1 in a close, back-and-forth series.

G2 Esports remained unbeaten at IEM Sydney after recording a dominant 2-0 victory over ENCE to qualify for the semi-finals.

MOUZ awaits the winner of the ENCE vs FaZe Clan quarter-final and G2 Esports will clash with the winner of the BetBoom Team vs Complexity series.

Despite this setback, Na’Vi left a lasting impression with a dominant performance on Mirage, a map of their choosing, which they convincingly won 13-4.

FaZe, led by Finn “?karrigan?” Andersen, initially had a strong start in the series, taking a commanding 6-0 lead on the attacking side of Overpass, their map pick.

However, Natus Vincere showed resilience and managed to secure five of the final six rounds in the first half.

Unfortunately for Na’Vi, the tides turned when the teams switched sides, as FaZe took control on the defensive side and ultimately closed out the map with a 13-7 victory.

In a similar fashion, Natus Vincere dominated their Mirage pick, with Aleksi “?Aleksib?” Virolainen and Valeriy “?b1t?” Vakhovskiy leading the charge on the scoreboard.

Mihai “?iM?” Ivan made impactful plays on both sides, and even Andrey “?B1ad3?” Gorodenskiy, despite his role as a coach, secured a triple kill in the late stages of the map, sealing FaZe’s fate and preventing a comeback.

The final map, Inferno, became FaZe’s playground as they raced to a 7-1 lead on the defensive side, leaving Natus Vincere struggling to find their footing.

Although Na’Vi managed to string together two rounds, they ended the first half 9-3 behind.

The second half proved no different, with a 4-4 scoreline securing FaZe’s continued presence in the tournament as they clinched the map 13-7.

On the other side of the bracket, GamerLegion delivered a decisive blow to Apeks, eliminating them in a two-map series.

The showdown began with a strong GamerLegion performance on Vertigo, winning 13-8, followed by an impressive comeback on Overpass, where they triumphed 13-11 despite trailing 6-10.

GamerLegion’s recent resurgence can be attributed to the addition of Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski as the in-game leader, which seems to have unlocked the team’s individual brilliance.

Frederik “?acoR?” Gyldstrand and Sebastian “?volt?” Malo? shone in the matches, recording two of the highest ratings in the server.

Apeks’ decision to pick Vertigo didn’t pay off as they struggled on the offensive side, managing to secure only four rounds.

This allowed GamerLegion to reach map point at 12-4. Although the Snax-led team encountered some resistance, they ultimately closed out the game with a 13-8 score.

GamerLegion carried their momentum into the second map, taking a 6-2 lead. Apeks, led by ?dne “?sense?” Fredriksen, made a valiant effort with two 1vs1 clutches, resulting in a tied score at the switch.

Apeks continued their strong performance, going up 10-6 after a pistol-round win.

However, GamerLegion rallied, winning seven of the final eight rounds to secure victory in two maps and advance to the lower-bracket final, where they will face FaZe for a playoff spot in the first Counter-Strike 2 event..

Earlier in the day, Cloud9 sent Lynn Vision packing with a dominant 2-0 victory, while Grayhound suffered a similar fate at the hands of Monte.

Although the Australian squad showed some promise on the second map, they couldn’t secure the map victory, and Monte claimed the 2-0 series win to eliminate the final Australian representative at IEM Sydney.

Team Vitality & VERTEX eliminated from IEM Sydney https://www.cheapersunglasses.com/team-vitality-vertex-eliminated-from-iem-sydney/ https://www.cheapersunglasses.com/team-vitality-vertex-eliminated-from-iem-sydney/#respond Tue, 17 Oct 2023 01:46:58 +0000 https://www.cheapersunglasses.com/?p=32734 FaZe Clan have eliminated world number one Team Vitality from IEM Sydney (IEM Fall) with a 2-1 victory in Group A’s lower bracket.

Both teams had earlier dropped to the elimination zone after overtime losses to GamerLegion and BetBoom, respectively.

The series extended well into the night and proved to be one the better Counter-Strike 2 series that we have witnessed so far.

Vitality took the lead on Overpass on the CT side, eventually securing the win in overtime.

FaZe bounced back on Inferno in a closely contested match, after preventing several potential momentum shifts in crucial rounds.

The decider on Nuke saw Vitality with an 8-1 lead, but FaZe mounted an unbelievable comeback, putting together 11 straight rounds on their way to match and series point.

Finn “?karrigan?” Andersen noted that securing four weapon rounds on the terrorist side was enough to make a comeback possible.

FaZe excelled on the CT side, with karrigan himself contributing significantly to secure the series win.

Vitality faced a tough day with two challenging losses in a short span. Their earlier defeat to BetBoom in the opening round of Group A saw them lose a game; they had a 9-4 lead on Mirage, only to lose in overtime.

After coming into the event as the esports betting sites favourite and world number one from Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Vitality’s last place finish and day one exit is far from ideal at the first CS2 tournament on LAN.

Earlier on, Apeks secured a dominant 2-0 victory over VERTEX in the lower bracket of Group A, advancing to the lower-bracket semi-final.

The European team displayed a strong performance, starting with a convincing win on Mirage (13-5) and sealing the deal on Anubis (13-11).

The series kicked off on Mirage, where Apeks outclassed their opponents, accumulating a significant 10-round lead on the CT side and ultimately securing a 13-5 victory.

Aleksandar “?CacaNito?” Kjulukoski and Damjan “?kyxsan?” Stoilkovski stood out for their team with impactful plays on the A site.

Anubis began with the Australians winning the pistol round, and initially, it looked like they might mount a comeback.

However, Apeks regained their footing, displayed confidence in their aggressive plays, and managed to secure a 7-5 lead on their CT side.

VERTEX showcased an improved performance during their defence, and Christian “?ADDICT?” Pendleton’s highlight rounds brought them to an 11-10 lead.

But in a crucial moment, they faltered against Apeks’ A rush, leading to a hard-fought victory for Apeks on their map choice.

For VERTEX, their journey at their home event came to an end.

The Australian team failed to secure a map win in Sydney but managed to push Apeks to the limit during their match on Anubis.

While two teams were eliminated from IEM Sydney on day one, both BetBoom Team and MOUZ booked their place in the playoffs after winning through to the upper-bracket final of Group A.

Tuesday’s IEM Sydney matches

IEM Sydney participants facing visa issues https://www.cheapersunglasses.com/iem-sydney-participants-facing-visa-issues/ https://www.cheapersunglasses.com/iem-sydney-participants-facing-visa-issues/#respond Sun, 15 Oct 2023 23:13:01 +0000 https://www.cheapersunglasses.com/?p=32717 Both MOUZ and Natus Vincere will be without one of their star players at IEM Sydney, with Jimi Jimpphat Salo from MOUZ and Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev set to miss the event in Sydney, Australia.

MOUZ is entering the Counter-Strike 2 era without their young star, Jimpphat, who is currently facing visa issues.

To fill the void, MOUZ has temporarily brought in Bram Nexius Campana for IEM Sydney 2023 until Jimpphat’s visa matters are resolved.

Following their significant roster upgrade after the BLAST Paris Major, MOUZ has been on fire.

They not only added Jimpphat’s explosive talent but also acquired Kamil siuhy Szkaradek, formerly the face of GamerLegion, who led his previous team to the finals of the Major with his fearless and fluid in-game leading style.

Jimpphat played a crucial role during their victory at the ESL Pro League Season 18 Finals, earning praise for his clutching abilities.

While losing a player of Jimpphat’s caliber is a setback, missing only part of IEM Sydney is manageable.

MOUZ has its sights set on more significant prizes, particularly the inaugural CS2 Major, which is just around the corner.

Other high-profile tournaments are also on the horizon, and MOUZ is expected to be at full strength for those.

In the meantime, they can rely on Nexius to fill in until Jimpphat’s visa issues are resolved, which could be sooner than later.

This means that Jimpphat still has a chance to join his team down under should they make a deep run in the tournament.

IEM Sydney 2023 appears to be plagued with high-profile absences and potential in-game bugs, making it an explosive and unpredictable event.

One of the most notable absences is s1mple from NAVI, often considered the CS:GO GOAT.

According to NAVI’s release, s1mple will not be attending IEM Sydney due to issues related to his EU residency papers.

Team coach B1ad3 will be stepping in to complete the roster, but this is seen as a significant downgrade, as B1ad3 hasn’t played at this level since his days with FlipSid3 Tactics.

S1mple’s decision to take a break may be well-founded considering his recent criticism of the state of CS2.

He expressed frustration with the game due to numerous bugs and server issues, even going so far as to advise against playing it in its current state.

With an unstable online environment, IEM Sydney may witness its fair share of bugs and glitches in its early days.

Furthermore, s1mple has been experiencing a frustrating streak, with NAVI underperforming in the final days of CS:GO.

Taking a break might help alleviate these frustrations within the team and on the server.

Regardless of whether s1mple participates in the first CS2 tournament, he remains one of the greatest CS players of all time.

He will have plenty of opportunities to compete for glory in CS2, including the highly anticipated first CS2 Major set for March 2024.

]]> https://www.cheapersunglasses.com/whats-on-in-esports-for-week-beginning-october-16-2023/feed/ 0 ESL announce IEM Sydney 2023 groups and format https://www.cheapersunglasses.com/esl-announce-iem-sydney-2023-groups-and-format/ https://www.cheapersunglasses.com/esl-announce-iem-sydney-2023-groups-and-format/#respond Tue, 03 Oct 2023 23:12:39 +0000 https://www.cheapersunglasses.com/?p=32550 ESL has officially unveiled the groups and initial matchups for IEM Sydney (IEM Fall), along with confirming that the opening round will feature best-of-one MR12 matches.

As the inaugural premier tournament of Counter-Strike 2 approaches, the spotlight is on IEM Sydney, starting on October 16.

However, the reaction to this format choice has been predominantly negative, with prominent figures like Robin “?ropz?” Kool expressing their displeasure on Twitter.

ropz re-tweeted the groups announcement with a quote saying, “BO1 MR12” followed by three crying emojis.

The group stage format for this $250,000 tournament will consist of opening round best-of-one series, followed by best-of-three matches, with the group winners progressing to the semi-finals, while the second and third-place teams in each group earn a spot in the quarter-finals.

In the playoffs, a single-elimination, best-of-three bracket will determine the champion.

It includes Team Vitality, the winners of the last CS:GO Major (BLAST Paris) in front of their home crowd, MOUZ, the recent champions of ESL Pro League Season 18, NAVI, who are seeking a resurgence with a revamped roster, the perennial contender FaZe Clan, and the formidable Apeks.

One of the most intriguing opening matchups will see Vladislav “?nafany?” Gorshkov’s new BetBoom squad facing off against the world number one, Team Vitality.

This comes at a time when Vitality is facing further challenges with the impending departure of coach Danny “?zonic?” S?rensen in November.

However, after the announcement, Vitality have firmed with most esports betting sites into an outright $3.75 favourite to take out the IEM Sydney title.

Group B also features an exciting clash between Fnatic and Cloud9.

The Russian superteam, Cloud9, is still in the process of finding their form after making significant roster changes during the offseason.

Looking at the groups, Group A stands out as the “group of death.”

On the other side of the bracket, Group B appears to be less competitive but not to be underestimated.

ENCE, recent finalists in a grand event and IEM Dallas champions, are part of this group, along with G2, a talented yet inconsistent team.

Cloud9, aiming for top-tier status in 2023 following a complete Russian roster rebuild, is still finding their footing.

Complexity is North America’s best hope, although they are still developing as a team and managed to reach the semi-finals of Pro League.

There is a growing sentiment among the community that it’s time to move away from best-of-one MR12 matches now that this format has been introduced.

It appears contradictory to address concerns about match duration and then opt for best-of-ones instead of the more competitive best-of-threes.

Regardless, fans are looking forward to the start of the CS2 era, hoping that any minor issues will be resolved before the tournament kicks off.

?BetBoom Team enter the IEM Sydney 2023 European Qualifier as a complete enigma. The Russian squad came together at the end of July and have since attended just one event C the IEM Sydney 2023 Open Qualifier, where they defeated 1win (16-13), FTW Esports (19-17), Dynamo Eclot (16-3), 500 (16-14), and Into the Breach (2-1).

It’s tough to take much from that since BetBoom have yet to play a strong team, but they’re in great form. The same can’t be said for OG.

OG’s new project with Iulian “regali” Harj?u, Nils “k1to” Gruhne, and Dion “FASHR” Derksen has yet to make any strides. The new-look roster first exited BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2023 in 10th-12th-place, crashed out of IEM Cologne 2023 in the first round of the group stage, and ran fifth-sixth against second-tier opponents at CCT Online Finals #2.

The new signings would never make OG a competitive team at the top level, but to see them fall off so hard is concerning. But are they weaker than BetBoom Team?

On paper, OG look better than BetBoom, but considering their form, OG shouldn’t be priced as favourites. We’re taking our chances with BetBoom Team to sweep, even though a head-to-head wager at plus money isn’t a bad choice.

In the latest CS:GO world rankings, Ninjas in Pyjamas dropped from seventh to 11th place due to their poor placement at Intel Extreme Masters Cologne 2023. Even though Ninjas in Pyjamas weren’t expected to win the trophy, they left a lot to be desired with a round-one exit from the group stage.

In NiP’s defence, they got eliminated by the revitalised Astralis (0-2); however, they also played a bad series against the struggling FaZe Clan (1-2). Prior to IEM Cologne 2023, Ninjas in Pyjamas won BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2023, but a week before, they exited the Gamers8 2023 Last Chance Qualifier in fifth-eighth place. Consistency isn’t NiP’s strong suit, and that could be a problem on Wednesday.

1win have yet to attend a big event this season, but based on their performances over the last couple of months, the Russian squad should soon break into the top 20. They won BetBoom Playlist Freedom before the summer break, finished in the top four at the Gamers8 2023 Last Chance Qualifier, and didn’t disappoint in the IEM Sydney 2023 Open Qualifier. However, 1win have also not faced any good teams over that stretch.

1win seem like a competitive team and they might find a way to cause Ninjas in Pyjamas some issues, especially if Hampus “hampus” Poser and his crew have one of their off games. But it’s tough to bet against NiP, who are a class above 1win, despite their recent struggles.

IEM Sydney invites announced https://www.cheapersunglasses.com/iem-sydney-invites-announced/ https://www.cheapersunglasses.com/iem-sydney-invites-announced/#respond Thu, 10 Aug 2023 00:17:07 +0000 https://www.cheapersunglasses.com/?p=31795 Leading Counter-Strike event organiser ESL has announced the list of invites for the Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) Sydney event, which is set to take place from October 16-22.

Seven invites were handed to teams who are partners with the tournament organiser, four were offered to teams due to their ESL world ranking, and one went to the local Australian hero.

Of the 11 total invites, eight teams from the top 10 in the ESL world rankings will make the trip down under for the first international CS:GO event held in Australia since 2019.

Among the notable absentees are the two all-Danish squads, with world no.1 Heroic and world no.6 Astralis declining their invites to the $250,000 event.

However, even without those two teams, there will still be a lot of talent on display in Sydney, with recently crowned IEM Cologne champions G2 Esports, BLAST.tv Paris Major champions Team Vitality, and ESL Pro League Season 17 winners FaZe Clan all accepting their invites.

Teams that werent offered direct invites will have to go through qualifiers to earn their spot at IEM Sydney, with two spots on offer at the European qualifier and one spot available for the winner of each of the North American, Asian and Oceanian qualifiers.

IEM Sydney sold out in just over a week https://www.cheapersunglasses.com/iem-sydney-sold-out-in-just-over-a-week/ https://www.cheapersunglasses.com/iem-sydney-sold-out-in-just-over-a-week/#respond Fri, 30 Jun 2023 05:55:59 +0000 https://www.cheapersunglasses.com/?p=31207 After announcing that the Intel Extreme Masters Counter-Strike: Global Offensive series would return to Australia on June 20, with ticket sales commencing on June 21, IEM Sydney sold out on June 29.

In the space of eight days, General Admission, General Admission Plus, Premium, and God Mode tickets were all snapped up.

ESL is calling this event ‘The Big Reunion Down Under’ because it has been four years since an IEM CS:GO tournament was held in Australia.

IEM Sydney begins on October 16 with three days of group play in a studio, followed by three days of playoffs from October 20-22 at the Aware Super Theatre in front of a live audience.

The teams travelling to Australia have not been announced, but since it is a $250,000 IEM event with automatic entry into IEM Katowice 2024 on offer for the champion, a strong field is expected.

IEM Sydney, also known as IEM Fall, will be the final Intel Extreme Masters event of 2023 and the third-to-last S-Tier tournament of the year.
