On the other side, London Spitfire boast a very talented DPS lineup in Jeffrey “blasé” Tsang, Johannes “Shax” Nielsen, and William “SparkR” Andersson, but lack quality in the support and tank departments.

It will be interesting to see how these two Overwatch League teams match up and whether either will manage to take advantage of the opponent’s weaknesses. You could favour the Titans a bit more since they have already won one match, but we wouldn’t say that they’re that much better than the Spitfire. A 3-2 victory for the Titans seems like a likely outcome.

?This has the makings of a close game; however, it’s tough to say whether Houston Outlaws can step up and deliver. They have the tools to be great, but we are very lukewarm on this team, mainly because they have yet to show any form of consistency this tournament cycle.

Los Angeles Gladiators are similar in a way that they have a high ceiling; however, you never know what to expect from them. The Gladiators played a very close series against Atlanta Reign (2-3) a couple of weeks back and added a 3-0 sweep of Washington Justice, but they struggled against Paris Eternal (2-3) and Justice (2-3) at the start of July.

Even though there is a world where Los Angeles Gladiators fall apart and lose, they are still more reliable than the Outlaws.

Hangzhou Spark enter this match with a 0-2 record and in desperate need of wins if they wish to end the OWL Countdown Cup qualifiers inside the top four. The Spark haven’t achieved much of late and don’t seem like a very stable team, so it is hard to see them downing Chengdu Hunters.

Although Hangzhou pulled off a 3-1 win against Chengu when they met last back in June, we don’t believe they can do it again. We have to trust the in-form Hunters to get it done with at least two maps to spare.

London Spitfire are 0-2 in the Countdown Cup qualifiers with 1-3 losses against Toronto Defiant and Dallas Fuel. It was not exactly a promising start, but the Brits have been improving and came close to upsetting both of their previous opponents.

Paris Eternal enter this match with a 1-1 record, which isn’t terrible, and you have to show some respect for their 3-2 win against Dallas Fuel. However, it’s hard to be overly excited about Eternal’s 1-3 loss against Boston Uprising in the previous round.

The Eternal should have won that match but threw away their leads – a concerning trend with this team. What’s more, Paris Eternal seem to rely way too much on Pharah, which is something the Spitfire should have noticed and could take advantage of on Friday.

Florida Mayhem enter the final week of OWL Countdown Cup qualifiers with a 1-1 record. They lost against Atlanta Reign (2-3) on Saturday but bounced back with a 3-1 victory against Boston Uprising a day later.

Los Angeles Gladiators have managed the same 1-1 record this stage, with a 3-0 win against Washington Justice and a 2-3 loss against Paris Eternal. Results-wise, there is not a lot to set these two sides apart, although you have to value Mayhem’s victory against the Reign a bit higher.

The Gladiators are priced as heavy favourites, which might make sense since they seem to enjoy playing in the current meta. If their recent performances are any indication, this team should have a very high ceiling. The problem is that they lack consistency.

This might sound like a hot take, but the Mayhem are good enough to win here. They have shown that they can deliver with multiple compositions, and as long as they can enable Jun-ki “Yaki” Kim and Sang-bum “BQB” Lee, Florida should be able to claim the win.

?London Spitfire last met with Toronto Defiant in May, losing 1-3. Riku “Ripa” Toivanen and co. have since played eight games and lost all of them.

On a more positive note, the Spitfire showed some life against the reigning OWL champions, San Francisco Shock, who they forced to five maps at the end of June. They followed that up with two 0-3 losses against the surging Atlanta Reign and Washington Justice.

Toronto Defiant are 6-6 on the season, which is obviously a more inspiring record than Spitfire’s 0-12. However, the Defiant haven’t really achieved much of late, losing five of their last seven outings.

We don’t expect London to cause an upset on Friday, but they’re good enough to take advantage of Toronto’s poor form and steal at least one map. A smaller bet on the Spitfire with a +1.5 map handicap is also worth a shot at $3.59.

?Boston Uprising secured a crucial 3-1 victory against Paris Eternal last week, which served as a huge morale boost, knowing that they took down a team that had won against Dallas Fuel just a day prior. However, the Uprising soon got put in their place by San Francisco Shock, who beat them 3-1 on Sunday.

Their next opponents, Vancouver Titans, are one of the weakest teams in the region. They have yet to win a match this season and have put together a disastrous 5-36 map differential. With all due respect, there is nothing exciting about this team.

The Uprising last met with the Titans in June, winning 3-1, and they have since improved and seem to do well in the current meta. We expect a clean sweep for the OWL betting favourites.

?Paris Eternal are one of the most improved teams in the league, and while they aren’t particularly good, they can have their moments. Just two weeks back, they took Washington Justice to five maps and could have won had they not subbed in Samir “Tsuna” Ikram, which broke the synergy.

On Friday, the Eternal will cross swords with Dallas Fuel, who are arguably the second-best team in the league, behind Shanghai Dragons. They field one of the strongest rosters and have consistently done well against other western teams, although we weren’t too impressed with their performances against Florida Mayhem (3-2) and Toronto Defiant (3-1) at the start of the month.

We don’t expect Paris to win; however, with the improvement they have been showing, we have to take a shot with the outsiders to force another tight series and prove that they’re more than just a mid-table team.

?Sung-won “Assassin” Kim and Gui-un “Decay” Jang have been very impressive of late for Washington Justice, but you could make a case for Houston Outlaws to cause an upset Friday. The main reason why we like the Outlaws’ chances is their main tank, Myung-heum “JJANGGU” Cho. The 20-year-old is a force to be reckoned with on Wrecking Ball and Reinhardt and has shown strong synergy with Dante “Danteh” Cruz.

Even though the Justice seem more comfortable in the current meta, we wouldn’t side with them at the offered OWL betting odds. They impressed during the last stage and can easily be regarded as one of the top teams in the league when they’re playing at their peak, but they’re still very inconsistent and therefore hard to back with any confidence.
